Do you ever wonder about the fact that we know the world is running itself a mischief, cooking the engine as we hoon toward cliff’s edge, but that we don’t take the foot off the accelerator? It’s like, we have a blood and soil accelerator, a traditionalist landed gentry accelerator, an accelerator for fence-sitters, a laborite accelerator and an eco-friendly accelerator made only from renewables with 100% net zero energy. Nobody known say one bad thing about trying to make endless-growth economies work on finite planets. We can’t sell it to a bunch of selfish individualists who decide to give one fuck about anyone other than themselves let alone the planet or the future as long as they remain guaranteed of your middle class creature comforts. Dance around positively sacred social and class hierarchies personal boundaries not so much and the autocratic hierarchies inherent to capitalist social relations of reproduction, much less the commodity fetish and its spectacle. Did you know money is the root of all evil but also makes the world go round. Does common sense know its arse from its elbow? It doesn’t much seem like it. We all know the world is going sideways but no one wants to stop clocking dividends I mean stop long enough to figure out what the root cause of the problem is. If there’s a rattling in a car engine, stopping the car to fix the problem before the ratting gets worse is a no brainer, but for the money cult and its collectively paranoid slaves stopping to find out what the root cause of the problem is before it gets worse is an offence against freedom and the monopoly on virtue of the middle classes, theirs by birthright.
