Is is seriously any wonder this country is as braindead as it is. In the UK, at least Murdoch’s manufacture of consent can even talk about the Iran-Israel ceasefire–much less the Lebanon strikes immediately afterwards. These are a big deal if not for the lives they’ve taken and destruction caused, but for what they represent in terms of being able to hold Israel to any limitations on or boundaries to its indiscriminate use of force.
Sky UK seems to be able to deal with basic geopolitical reality:
By contrast, Sky News Australia has absolutely shit to say, and is indeed running culture war over renewable energy and apparently devoting a lot of energy into trying to build an enabler’s bandwagon for an Australian solider arrested on charges of perpetrating war crimes:
Even by the own standards of their own organisation internationally Sky News Australia are the worst kind of yellow bootlicker and butt-polisher journalism. Jesus wept; the Cheeto Hitler has been shitposting on social media like a lunatic and making one threat after the other he’s forced to back down on later, but to SNA he’s showing the barbarous towelheads who’s boss. It’s almost as though they need to sound off about ‘Great Shame’ to feed the pretence they have any concept of what that even is.
This country is only ever getting more and more braindead, rotten and stupid. No brainer where it comes from. Outlets like Sky News are as subtle as a brick in their paranoid, far-right demagoguery and spin-doctoring, but they are for sure only reflecting the sentiments of the community and not affecting them with a view to protecting the interests of the Rupert Murdochs of the world from democratic interference.
Maybe economic monopoly and democracy don’t mix after all, sorry middle-class liberals.
