A few questions for political marxists

Stalin was a scientific socialist, wasn’t he? I mean, one point where every Marxist can agree with Stalin was that Engels was right about the Scientific Socialism vs. Utopian Socialism binary, right? I didn’t even know binaries were materialist until I read Trotsky’s collected works.

Now that I think about it a bit more, do you reckon it would it be a problem for Marxism in general and Leninism in particular if binaries are teleological? Is teleology anti-materialist?

I’m no ingroup boffin, but I would wager it could be. What do you all reckon? Would teleology give rise to methodological errors of the order of a Stalin? Is trying to put your binary-laden ideology on a par with empirical studies of the natural sciences a bit of an, I don’t know, anti-materialist thought experiment?

I am a bit of a utopian Other though, what else would you expect but endless questions.
